Emails are bouncing back to the sender

If you find that your sender’s emails are bouncing back to them when trying to send to your email account hosted with Quadra, there are a few things you need to know to help resolve this issue.

 The Bounce Back error message:

The bounce back error usually tells you the reason why the message could not be delivered. If possible, retrieve a copy of the bounce back error to see what error it produces.

 Common Errors:

Here are some common errors that you will see in the Bounce Back message:

------------------------------------------------------------

Error: “Sorry, this message appears to be spam (#5.6.0)”

Meaning: The server believes that the message being sent is spam.

Resolution: Change your Anti-Spam settings via the EMAIL section of your hosting Control Panel.
Log into the email section and click on the Anti-Spam icon. Change “Spam processing” to “Mark As Spam”.
This way if the system thinks the email is Spam, it will allow it though, Marking it as Spam, rather than not allowing the email and sending the bounce back message.

------------------------------------------------------------

Error: “511 sorry, no mailbox here by that name”

Meaning: The server cannot find a mailbox that the user has sent the email too.

Resolution: Make sure that the mailbox exists and the sender is sending to the correct email address. If the mailbox does exist, this could be related to incorrect DNS.

 ------------------------------------------------------------

Error: “User is over quota” or “Mailbox full”

Meaning: The mailbox is full or is over quota.

Resolution: Check your quota via the EMAIL section of your hosting Control Panel.
You can increase the quota if needed.
You may need to also delete emails to free up space or download the emails to your local PC via an Email client using POP3.
 ------------------------------------------------------------

If you have any issues, please retrieve a copy of the bounce back message and issue it to support to look at.
